09/04/2026 09:00 AM - 03:00 PM ET

Location

Cartersville, GA

Description

In connection with the Smithsonian’s Voices and Votes: Democracy in America exhibit at the Bartow History Museum in Cartersville, this workshop offers Georgia Studies teachers an engaging exploration of the connections among Georgia’s history, government, and economy. Participants will experience interactive lessons that use fresh approaches to topics such as voting rights, industrialization, entrepreneurship, transportation, and land/water use. Teachers will leave with ready-to-use resources that help students examine how innovation, expanding markets, civic participation, and economic change have shaped Georgia and the broader American experience. Access to the exhibit will add a powerful dimension to the day’s learning.
